Youth Council helps shape project

Recently representatives from Barwon Health and Lyons Architects – who are leading the design for the Barwon Women’s and Children’s project – had the opportunity to present to the City of Greater Geelong Youth Council.

The Youth Council is made up of twelve young people aged between 12 and 17and provides opportunities for youth to participate and learn about civic and democratic processes. It also and provides multiple mechanisms for Council to seek and receive advice and input from young people about youth-specific issues.

The architects presented on the background to the project, along with proposed design ideas and asked what is important to young people in the region, as well as what they’d like to see in the project.
